Historic Equalizers

These are the  "Folks" who did the eq-job from the start

Original Vintage Trident A-Range
 Trident A-Range

Though it had a very limited run, the Trident A Range console gained a reputation for its very distinct and pleasant sound with a very "musical" EQ section. Along with channel strips from early Neve and Helios consoles, original Trident A Range modules have kept a healthy resale value and are much sought after by engineers who like to combine old-school analog gear with leading-edge digital recording technology.Designed by Malcom Toft

Vintage API 550A
API 550A

Features
  • 3 bands of classic API equalization
  • Each band offers 7 API selected frequency centers
  • Reciprocal and repeatable filtering
  • Maximum 12 dB of boost/cut per band
  • EQ Band 1 and 3 offer shelf/peak switching
  • "Proportional Q" narrows filter Q at extremes
  • Traditional API fully discrete circuit design
  • High headroom +30 dB clip level

Decca EQ-DP

Decca EQ-DP1 Passive Precision Equaliser

A unique and rare equaliser from the days when Decca engineers could not get gear good enough for them in the wider marketplace. They innovated many in-house signal paths. This EQ has two bands, bass and treble, each with 6 settings: 3 shelf frequencies and 3 peak frequencies. A unique 32k shelf gives utra fine adjustment at the extremes of hearing with a totally analogue sound.

GML 8200
 GML 8200 Parametric Equaliser
The GML 8200 Parametric Equalizer is the reference standard parametric EQ from the engineer who invented the concept. The 8200 is a fifth generation progressive design, the result of ten years of creation and precise listening analysis. Incorporating the exclusive GML op-amp, this unit has no tantalum or electrolytic interstage or output coupling capacitors. The result is the most natural of equalizers, with minimum artifacts and signal modification.
FEATURES:
2 Channels, 5 bands fully parametric
1) 15 Hz - 800 Hz, Q of .4 - 4 or shelving, 15 dB boost/cut
2) 15 Hz - 800 Hz, Q of .4 - 4, 15 dB boost/cut
3) 120 Hz - 8 kHz, Q of .4 - 4, 15 dB boost/cut
4) 400 Hz - 26 kHz, Q of .4 - 4, 15 dB boost/cut
5) 400 Hz - 26 kHz, Q of .4 - 4 or shelving, 15 dB boost/cut

NEVE 1073
Vintage Neve 1073
Discrete Class A preamp / eq

Pultec Program Equaliser 1A-3
Pultec Program Equaliser 1A-3
The Pultec Program Equalizer was birthed in 1951 by Eugene Shenk and is still revered today for its performance and quality. In a world of disposable audio devices, it's almost impossible to find original Pultec's in this condition, so take advantage of this sale.
The EQP-1A3 features: 20, 30, 60, and 100 cps shelf boost from 0 to 13.5 dB. 20, 30, 60, and 100 cps shelf attenuate from 0 to 17.5 dB. 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, and 16 kcs peak boost from 0 to 18 dB. 5, 10, and 20 kcs shelf attenuate from 0 to 16 dB, significantly low noise, and 0.15% distortion at +10 dBm.
Also featured is: original (1) ECC82, (1) ECC83 tubes, the original Triad and Peerless (by Altec Lansing) transformers, and a brushed aluminum finish.
The wide range of equalization curves provided makes it possible to boost the very low or very high frequency notes without "muddying up" the middle register instruments. Continuously variable controls permit changing the amount of equalization on sustained tones without steps in level, or noise.
